Strength-training load is often organised through a split. We therefore ask which lifts, volumes and muscle groups were trained and when the next demanding session occurs.
Massage may feel useful for ordinary stiffness but does not repair a tear or replace technique work or a deload. Sudden weakness, bruising, marked swelling or a snapping event needs assessment.

In sports massage, the spot a client identifies is not always the only area needing attention. Danny therefore asks about training, working position, previous injuries and symptom development before assessing movement and tissue within the limits of massage care.
Deep-tissue techniques, manual trigger-point pressure and cupping are not separate bookings. They are used within sports massage only when tissue response, location and comfort make them appropriate. Massage remains the foundation; a technique is a tool, not the goal.
A common misconception is that more pressure always means more effect. In practice, workable pressure is more useful: you should be able to breathe and relax. Symptoms that worsen rapidly or involve neurological warning signs need appropriate medical assessment first.
